SCIENCE OF THE CHORD ENGINE

QwikChord was originally written in 2003 as a tool to learn chord construction. With the guidance and help of countless individuals from manny different guitar forums, the chord engine was refined to the version that is still used today in QwikChord 3.

This is a chart of chord formulas, the basis of the chord engine in QwikChord. Here is how to create a chord using this chart:
1. Rotate the list of notes so the top note is the root note of the chord you want to create,
2. Find the chord name you want,
3. An "x" in the note column indicates a required note in the chord. An "o" means the note is optional.

For example, a C6 chord is made up of the following notes: C, E, G, and A
By comparison, a E6 chord is made up of the following notes: E, G#/Ab, B, and C#/Db
